El Salvador’s competition regime was examined for the first time in 2008 during the 6th meeting of OECD-IDB Latin American Competition Forum held in Panama.
This report, officially launched in El Salvador later that year by OECD’s Secretary General Angel Gurría, provides an in-depth analysis of its competition practices and sets out recommendations on how to improve government policy and the local competition authority's enforcement / advocacy practices.
