About Showcasing at SXSW

Showcasing at SXSW means performing in one of Austin’s famous live music venues for 30,000 industry reps, 3,000 media members, and thousands of fans and fellow musicians from all over the world.

2024 Applications

Apply for the opportunity to perform at the SXSW Music Festival, taking place from March 11–16 2024. As a Showcasing Artist, you’ll gain unparalleled access to an audience of industry professionals, international media, and new fans. 2024 Showcasing Artist Applications

Early Application Entry ($35 Fee)	June 27–August 25, 2023
Regular Application Entry ($55)	August 26–October 27, 2023

The final deadline to enter your application for the 2024 SXSW Music Festival is October 27, 2023 at 11:59pm PT.

Eligibility

Music Showcase applications are open to:

All music genres
Artists from around the world
Signed and unsigned artists

Important details:

One official SXSW showcase performance is guaranteed per invited act.
Showcase slots run an average of 40 minutes (some exceptions may apply).
Showcases will take place between March 11-16, 2024.
SXSW does not provide artist backline or cover travel and accommodation expenses.

Within 48 hours of submitting an application, you will receive a confirmation email from SXSW. If you do not receive notification within 48 hours, please follow up by email to ensure your showcase application has been submitted properly and is under consideration.

SXSW will review your application, and you will be notified of your invitation status on or before December 19, 2023.

SXSW 2024 Showcasing Artist Credential

We have updated the Showcasing Artist Payment and Credential policy for SXSW 2024.

As an industry event, showcasing at SXSW provides indispensable networking, mentoring, and career development opportunities that are not a part of standard consumer-focused festivals.

For the 2024 Music Festival, showcasing artists will receive a registration package, which consists of an Artist Credential for each performing member of a group.

The SXSW Artist Credential provides each performer with the same access as a SXSW Music Badge (valued at $995 each), plus special artist-only benefits.

Domestic, U.S. acts can choose to receive monetary compensation in lieu of Artist Credentials.

$350 bands $150 solo artists Showcase Applications open on June 27.

Application Fee Waivers available for specific local music organizations, including HAAM.

SXSW was our first time to play live in America. We knew of the festival, but we did not know much else or what to expect, only that it was an honor to be invited and we were very excited to be there. The entire city of Austin is filled with music all day long to the middle of the night. Famous artists mix with unknown artists, all just pure music lovers, there is something for everyone. It is truly incredible, and you can experience a special week full of music love. We have just been a second time this year and want to go back again and again.
